I believe I really start to like making these mini pattern collections - it's fast, easy (perfect 'cause I get distracted easily) and because I don't think to much about what I'm doing, the results are pretty fun in my opinion! Should this concept also work on a larger scale?

Lots of pink shades - usually I'm not really into pink, but somehow I find myself using pink more often nowadays.

Today I've made just a quick sketch with some different markers, and I actually didn't really like the original colors, but changed them in Photoshop. I like the cool, grey tones.

DAILY SKETCHBOOK / to finish or not to finish

I like pattern drawings the most when not finished yet. So it's necessary to take a lot of pictures in between changes, although sometimes you just forget and might not like the end result...

Sometimes I find the back of a colored pattern more interesting than the actual drawing.

Today I've been working on some collage-like patterns. First drawing a simple pattern, then cutting it up and rearrange it to a new pattern. I believe this approach makes it more interesting in this case.

Nothing can beat a ballpoint and a squared paper book to try out some quick ideas. Not that this is a geometrical doodle after all, but I like the extra subtle layer of blue squares in this example.

Today a simple black&white pattern, love how much you can achieve by just using a pen and doodle some simple lines and shapes.

I love to experiment with color combining, especially in the same color range. Maybe a palette for a new pattern series?

A lot of doodling, drawing, sketching and thinking has been going on here in my home studio and I've been busy working on a lot of new pattern collections. 

The plan is to share all my work in process on this blog. Hope you like to see my daily sketchbook doodles and collages!
