FRANCE / part two

Here's part two of my holiday memories. Although the weather wasn't that good (lots and lots of grey and rainy weather) we had such a good time in Biarritz, Guethary and Hossegor. We went to an exhibition of Mexican Art in Biarritz, which showed us some pretty cool paintings from 1920-1960, including some work of Frida Kahlo.

WEEKEND TRIP EXHIBITION / CHANEL: the legend

Hello, I hope you had a great sunday today! Mine was very, very busy with many exciting projects going on. That's also the reason why I've neglected the blog the last few weeks a bit... :)
Things have been pretty hectic since I'm back from my great holiday in France last month and I really needed to finish some work. (Will show you some holiday pics here soon)
As I said, I've been busy with some fun new projects, and I hope I can share them soon with you guys. Also my new website design is keeping me behind my desk for a while now as I'm planning to launch my brand new portfolio in a few weeks. Of course I'll update it here as well.

In the meantime I've visited a really nice exhibition this weekend, CHANEL: the Legend, in my hometown The Hague. Really liked it, so if you happen to be in the neighbourhood, go visit the gemeentemuseum!

WEEKEND TRIP EXHIBITION / Abraham prints - MoMu Antwerp

Last May when I was on a weekend trip to Antwerp, I've visited the MoMu: a really must-see if you love fashion and textiles.
The last time I went was already some years ago, so it was about time to soak up some fashion history.

There was a very interesting exhibition about printed textiles from world famous Swiss firm Abraham. Abraham was a company specialized in printing silks. This exhibition tells the story of their succes during the 1950s and 1960s (working together with famous couturiers Dior, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent) and shows lots of sample books, sketches, photographs, fine silks, screen printing process and much more. Also some famous contemporary designers (Dries van Noten for example) were invited to experiment with Abraham prints.

A must see! Runs till August 11th. More info here!
